Raegan Adams – a fifth grader at the Fairfield school – was recently chosen by NFL officials for her design, which will be worn by Colts’ wide receiver Drew Olgetree.
Raegan’s design was chosen to represent #85 Ogletree and his cause, “Just a Pair of Shoes,” which provides footwear to needy school children “helping ensure individuals have access to the basic necessities that promote dignity and opportunity,” said Fairfield school officials.
“Raegan’s creative submission stood out among many entries for its heartfelt representation of the cause and will now be brought to life on Ogletree’s cleats, which he will wear during an upcoming Colts game,” said school officials.
“The My Cause My Cleats campaign allows NFL players to bring attention to causes they are passionate about through personalized cleats. Raegan’s design will help raise awareness for the critical work of Just a Pair of Shoes, shining a spotlight on the importance of ensuring everyone has access to proper footwear,” said officials.
Raegan’s cleats will be unveiled later this month, and her achievement will be celebrated during a Colts game, where Drew Ogletree will wear them on the field.
Raegan created a message of “Respect Others” with a blue background and gold stars for Olgetree’s cleats.
Raegan said being one of only a few in Ohio chosen for the honor surprised her.
“All of this has made me feel happy and excited. When I first found out I was completely shocked that won. I am passionate about art and it was fun to use what I love,” she said.
Central Elementary Assistant Principal Brooke Cox said the NFL contest judges made the right decision in picking Raegan.
“We are incredibly proud of Raegan Adams for being selected as one of only eight students across Ohio to have her design featured in the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats campaign,” said Cox.
“Raegan’s creativity and passion truly shine through her design, and it’s an honor to see her work represent such an impactful cause like Just a Pair of Shoes. This achievement is a testament to her hard work, and we are thrilled to celebrate this special moment with her, our school, and the Fairfield community.”
